Grief can feel like an invisible burden — one that no one else sees, but you carry every day. When someone or something important is gone, nothing feels the same. If you're tired of walking through it alone, know that healing doesn’t mean going back to how things were — it means finding a way to move forward with meaning. You don’t have to do this by yourself. Therapy can help you take the next step, one moment at a time.

What we’ll work on
Imagine a life where…
01 You can acknowledge & express your grief
The first step is creating a safe space to fully recognize and express your feelings — sadness, anger, guilt, confusion, or numbness — without judgment. Therapy helps you give voice to your unique grief and begin to understand how it impacts your life.
02 You can process the loss & find meaning
Next, therapy guides you through exploring the impact of the loss, working through difficult emotions, and addressing any unresolved issues or regrets. This step often includes finding personal meaning or new ways to remember and honor your loved one, which helps integrate the loss into your life story.
03 You can rebuild & move forward with support
The final step focuses on gradually rebuilding your life after loss — learning coping strategies, strengthening your support system, and discovering how to live fully while carrying your grief. Therapy supports you in finding hope, purpose, and resilience as you move forward.

for Grief & Loss
Marissa Kuhl, LCSW
Hi, I’m Marissa of Kuhl Mental Health, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with nearly a decade of experience supporting individual adults through life’s most challenging moments. My work is grounded in the belief that healing is possible, even in the wake of profound loss.
I specialize in grief and loss, helping clients navigate the complex emotions that come with the death of a loved one or other forms of personal loss. Grief is not a linear process, and I strive to create a space that is compassionate, non-judgmental, and tailored to each person’s unique experience.
Whether you're in the early stages of mourning or feeling stuck months or even years after a loss, my approach is collaborative and rooted in empathy. I aim to walk alongside you, offering support, insight, and tools that honor both your pain and your capacity for resilience.
This work is deeply personal to me, and I consider it a privilege to help individuals rediscover meaning and connection after loss. If you're looking for a space where your grief is acknowledged and held with care, I’m here.

Grief is a natural response to loss, but it can sometimes feel overwhelming or disrupt daily life. Therapy won’t “fix” grief, but it can help you process it in a healthy way and help you to move forward when you're feeling stuck.
-
Grief therapy has no set duration as it depends on your needs. Some find a few sessions helpful, while others need longer support. The focus isn’t on “getting over” grief, but learning to cope in a way that feels right for you.

That’s completely okay. Grief can be overwhelming, and sometimes words are hard to find. You don’t need to have anything prepared because it’s my job to help guide the conversation. There’s no right or wrong way to show up.

My fee is $175 for the initial 60-minute intake session and for each subsequent 53-minute therapy session. I do not accept insurance directly, but I can provide receipts for you to submit to your insurance company if your plan includes out-of-network benefits.
